Garin Baker was born in New York City in 1961. After graduation in 1983 he went on to show in galleries and receive several corporate commissions in addition to making a living as busy illustrator for countless advertising agencies and publishing companies. Over the last 15 years Garin has been working primarily in the Public Art Realm as a Muralist creating large scale commissioned works for municipalities in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. His murals are in the great traditions of Brangwyn, Cornwell and WPA era muralist of the mid 20th century. His work is direct and uncompromising. A virtuosity of paint showing us a slice of life, from the urban to the landscape, he puts his experience and stories on canvas as a compelling vision of our modern times.
